Daddyless Daughter Unplugged

In this video Chris and I talk about the effects of me not having my dad in my life growing up. I mentioned it in our last video and was asked to expand on the subject. I had no clue at the time Oprah was doing a show on this very subject called "Daddyless Daughters." Chris and I watched both episodes and learned so much. These are some of our thoughts and we hope that it can help someone in some kind of way.

Food for Thought

Do you sit down as a family and enjoy eating together? Chris and I both grew up having family meals at our parents dinner table everyday. Sunday was the big meal of the day. I remember my grandmother would make pound cake almost every Sunday with strawberry jello served on the side. I can still taste that amazing cake yum yum yum! Well times have changed but we still need to eat. Even if you are picking up fast food, you can still sit around the diner table and have a meal together. Turn off the television and put the gadgets down. You'd be surprised by the conversations that start right at the diner table. Just a little food for thought : )))

LOST...........Family Getaway Gone Wrong!

Have you ever been on a family vacation and you thought everything was going great UNTIL you got LOST! Well, it happened to us in New York City! Listen in as we tell about our great adventure in the Big Apple. It's funny now but we weren't laughing at all when we had to find our way back to our car and couldn't find our parking garage where we parked the car for the day! Leave it to us to get LOST!

If you could take a time machine back in time to your middle school and high school years, what advice would you give your teenage self? Wee, we thought we'd do just that.....not take a time machine but you know what we mean :-) We have no regrets about our teen years but everyone could use a little advice in this journey called life......

Seeing Life Through Rose Colored Glasses

To dream is to hope. To hope is to believe. What things are possible? In this life, what can I achieve? I could do it tomorrow, I could do it today, it's up you so what do you say. Dreams come and dreams go. Dreams shrink and dreams grow. All dreams have value whether they do or don't come true. Dreaming is living and it is up to you. You can live in the box or you can step outside. Open your imagination.... Dream through rose colored glasses cause your future is bright, give no thought to failing cause it will be alright. 

Old School Throw Back Movies

Do you have those old school movies that get stuck in your head and you can't shake them? They just make you feel good. You find yourself reenacting the scenes...Oh, is that just us : ) Well we shared ten of our favorites but this list has a tendency to change depending on our mood. This is definitely one of our favorite in-house dates. You never know but if there is a good sound track you  just might find us up and getting our groove on during the movie ; ) Let us know your favorite throw back/ feel good movie.

Husband Helps Me Make Shea Butter Mix for Natural Hair

Chris decided to help me make my shea butter mixture for my hair. To say the least, he kept me entertained. I can definitely say there is never a dull moment when Chris is assisting me on a project. Hope you enjoy!

Back in the Day

Do you remember back in the day when you had to go outside and play? You weren't allowed to hang around the house playing video games and listening to grown folks conversation. What happened to it takes a village to raise a child? What happened to how we were raised "Back in the Day"?

Love & Racquetball

 

When a friendly game of racquetball goes awry. If you loved "Love and Basketball" ( I can't imagine who wouldn't ) check out what happened when Chris and I took the competition to the court! It's a Small World After All

As life goes on this world seems to be getting smaller and smaller. We cross paths with different cultures and ethnicity all the time. Most people live it and breathe it everyday. Texting While Dating

Have you ever been on a date and you can't stay off your phone no matter how hard you try? You're steady checking your Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr accounts. Do you look around the restaurant and see couples texting instead of talking. Snapping pictures of their entire date and uploading them to Instagram, especially the food : ) Well if you are doing this or seen others doing it this video is for you : )

Legacy of Love
